QUEENSTOWN JUNIOR CHESS CLASSIC

18th - 21st January 2009     Venue: Millennium Hotel

To be eligible players must be under 18 at 01/01/2009.

Time control: each player has one hour per game for all moves.

Registration: Sunday 18th January, 9.00 am, OR Saturday 17th January, 5.00-6.00 pm

ROUND 1 - Sunday 18th January, 10.00 am
ROUND 2 - Monday 19th January, 9.00 am
ROUND 3 - Monday 19th January, 12.15 pm
ROUND 4 - Tuesday 20th January, 9.00 am
ROUND 5 - Tuesday 20th January, 12.15 pm
ROUND 6 - Wednesday 21st January, 9.00 am
Prize-giving 12:30 pm

Note: Juniors can participate in both the Queenstown Junior Chess Classic and the 2009 Queenstown Chess Classic itself, as the round times do not overlap.

Best player under 16: book prize plus trophy
Best player under 14: book prize plus trophy
Best player under 12:  book prize plus trophy
Best player under 10: book prize plus trophy
Best player under 8: book prize plus trophy

DAILY GAMBIT PRIZE: each day a book prize, donated by Gambit Publications Ltd, will be awarded by the arbiters for a meritorious performance - on or off the chessboard.

The relevant date for the purpose of calculating age prizes is 01/01/2009. Tie-break: player with the fewest draws, or, if still tied, sum of progressive scores. Money prizes are shared equally amongst players on the same score.

Junior Classic entry fee: $50. Add $10 late entry fee if entering after 1st November 2008.
